Erik Madigan Heck folds photography, painting, writing, film, typography, music, and book-making into works that have been described as defining a new contemporary Romanticism.

He has collaborated closely with public institutions such as The Metropolitan Opera, The Los Angeles Philharmonic, and Sotheby’s; and with fashion and luxury houses such as Van Cleef & Arpels, Macallan, Fendi, Nike, Comme des Garçons, Gucci, Haider Ackermann, Dries Van Noten, Thom Browne, Giambattista Valli, and Ann Demeulemeester, as an artist, as well as a creative and musical director. He is also a regular contributor to The New York Times Magazine, TIME, Vanity Fair, The New Yorker, The Guardian, and Harper’s Bazaar.

Heck is the recipient of The International Center of Photography’s Infinity Award, the FOAM Fotografiemuseum Talent Award, the Forbes’ 30 Under 30 Award, and The Art Director’s Club Gold Medel for his Old Masters Portfolio commissioned by The New York Times Magazine. His work has been exhibited widely in galleries and solo museum exhibitions in locations such as The Musee des Beaux-Arts, Le Locle, Switzerland, The Houston Museum of Fine Arts, The Multimedia Arts Museum, Moscow, Paris Photo, and Photo London.
